If I Were Me

If I were me I’d fully accept myself as a creator,
Of things, and weirdness, and unspoken language.
I’d allow myself to be good at stuff,
and a work in progress at the same time.
If I were me I’d be at peace with my power.
I’d fill up a room,
Yet simultaneously just a corner.
If I were me I’d be more curious,
And trust that no one is ever going to figure me out,
Including me,
And that’s kind of fun.
If I were me I’d never stop giving hugs,
Opening doors,
Planting flowers,
And being amazed at how we are all just living the same life together.
If I were me, and I am…
I’d allow life to be messy,
And I’d find the people who want to roll around in it with me.
Grass in our hair,
Paint under our nails,
Sun kissed cheeks.
A lived life.
That’s who I’d be if I were me.
.
.
Who would you be, if you were you?
