Animal Faces, Human Voices

Animal communication can get a bad rap from those who believe all it is, is the anthropomorphizing of animals… here are a few reasons why I believe  it might appear that way to some.

As much as I love, fun and jokes, and I tend to live the majority of my life in a playful essence… I neutralize that energy for my readings.

When I was first practicing as an Animal Communicator, my sessions involved more playful energy and more simplistic conversation such as;  food preferences, day to day nuances, and conversational humor (which I might add are important in their own right). The light hearted moments are great and we all love to hear about them, but they are the moments that can get an animal communicator into trouble.

Sharing the lighthearted moments can create a perception around animal communication that those moments are the primary basis of conversation, which is untrue in my experience. Sharing things like color preferences and human-like humor (while at times is truly what the animal is bringing forward) can cause people to believe animal communicators anthropomorphize animals to an extreme, some might, this is not my intention.

I have found over the last 10 years, animals have quite a lot of depth to them. Many animal communicators have gotten criticized for speaking too plainly, or giving an animal a perceived voice that is overly opinionated and human-like.

I wanted to shed some light on why I believe animal communicators can sometimes give animals overly human-like characteristics in readings.

All animals are different, some more humorous than others. Just like us, they can have playful personalities or serious personalities and they will use what we know and feel as humans (from our unique human experience) to convey the sentiment. Animals are smart enough to know that they have to be able to relate to us in some way in order for us to listen to and believe them.

Every communicator is different as well, and we all have different gifts to share with our audience. Some communicators really value a more light hearted and simplistic conversation, and there’s nothing wrong with that - know what you are wanting and find a communicator with a personality to match!

I will sometimes attribute simplistic and humor based connections to the communicator not spending enough time finding their neutral. If one does not have a practice that allows the heart and mind to create a (deeply sustained) coherent frequency within the body so that one can fully understand when the energy, thought, or emotion is their own or not, it is more than likely that the person's own opinions and perceptions will become mixed into the reading.

In my experience, one of the main reasons for animals giving easily verifiable feedback (like the color of their buckets or what their friends look like), is to establish trust and belief in both communicator and listener as quickly as possible within the session. When an animal presents tangible evidence that feels true to the listener, they are more likely to trust the deeper spiritual messages.

Lastly, I’ve learned that humor from our animals can sometimes be a type of fawning animals will utilize when their person is not willing to hear the messages they are trying to convey.

As in all things, the journey and information will be different for everyone. It’s important to use your discernment when you are deciding who to work with just as you would pick your practitioners and trainers. Remember to always come back to your own heart and intuition when you are deciding what feels true for you in your readings with your animals.

All that to say, our animals can be quite hilarious. After all, that’s one of the reasons we love them so much!
